The Por Larranaga Galanes presents itself in a robusto format of 120 mm by 52 ring gauge, wrapped in a rustic yet oily colorado maduro leaf. The construction is solid, promising a refined experience.
At the cold draw, hints of gingerbread, cocoa, and leather tease the senses, setting the stage for what is to come.
The first third opens lightly, with delicate notes of cocoa, leather, and a very gentle pepper. The smoke is soft and rounded, inviting quiet contemplation.
Moving into the second third, the strength rises gently. Leather, pepper, and blond wood take center stage, underscored by cocoa lingering in the background. The smoke thickens with pleasant coffee aromas. Draw and burn remain impeccable.
In the final third, the power steadies, perfectly balanced. The wood and leather deepen, now enriched by the scent of damp earth. The smoke remains inviting, finishing with a subtle peppery tingle on the tongue.
A piece of rare delicacy, extremely well paced. “Coup de cœur” (favorite) last year, it now gains a fifth band.
