The Cohiba Lanceros is a cigar of distinction long, elegant, and steeped in history as one of the original vitolas crafted for Fidel Castro himself. Cloaked in a well-stretched maduro wrapper with minimal veins and a smooth, refined texture, it presents a polished appearance worthy of its legacy.
Before lighting, a subtle bouquet of wood and spice teases the senses, complemented by a clean, consistent draw. Upon ignition, the cigar eases into the experience with grace delivering a generous flow of silky smoke through an excellent draw. The opening is rich with vibrant spice black and red pepper layered with fine wood and nuanced cocoa notes.
Combustion is slow and measured, allowing the flavor profile to deepen with purpose. The second third shifts toward more pronounced wood tones, adding elements of peat, dark chocolate, and black pepper for a well-structured, full-flavored experience.
Though the final third brings less dramatic evolution, it maintains expressive character with lingering spice and earthy undertones. Balanced, consistent, and impeccably constructed, the Cohiba Lanceros delivers a refined smoking journey. While it may fall just short of ultimate complexity, it remains an exquisite example of classic Cuban craftsmanship at a price reflective of its prestige.
