Draped in a smooth, soft colorado leaf, this petit corona entices gently. The cold draw carries subtle notes of chicory and cocoa an inviting prelude.
After lighting:
The opening is woodsy and fairly intense, offering indulgent hints of moka and creamy coffee. A slight bitterness surfaces near the end of this first third.
The middle third unfolds simply yet pleasingly with earth and mushroom aromas. A fleeting copper note adds subtle intrigue.
Toward the end, the cigar becomes less indulgent and increasingly astringent. Fresh humus and tanned leather notes give way to assertive fern touches that gradually dominate.
Reflection from the aficionado:
Though its finish detracts somewhat, this Romeo just holds onto the third band it earned last year an honest smoke with character and persistence.
