Vitola: Campanas (Pyramid) | Size: 52 ring gauge × 140 mm (5½″)
A true prelude to the modern Edición Regional program, the Ramón Allones Belicosos Finos stands as one of the most distinctive and sought-after exclusive Cuban releases. Debuting in 2005 for the UK market through Hunters & Frankau, this unique vitola was never part of Ramón Allones’ standard production—making it a unicorn among collectors.
Cloaked in a light, nutty brown Cuban wrapper with visible veins and minimal oil, the Belicoso greets the senses with a classic bouquet of milk chocolate, cedar, aged leather, and baking spices. The pre-light draw confirms what the nose already suspects: this is a complex, refined Cuban cigar built for connoisseurs.
The smoke opens with rich, layered flavors—milk chocolate, cinnamon, coffee, earth, and floral notes dance across the palate. A distinctive caramel sweetness weaves through the profile, especially on the retrohale, where it mingles with white pepper for a vibrant, well-balanced experience. The body stays just under medium, allowing the complexity to shine without overwhelming strength.
Construction is exemplary: razor-sharp burn, long ash, effortless draw, and minimal need for touch-ups. Though the smoke output was slightly reduced in later puffs, the experience remained clean, dry, and deeply satisfying to the final inch.
Now fully matured, the Ramón Allones Belicosos Finos is a shining example of how age can transform an already exceptional cigar into something unforgettable. Smooth, intricate, and elegant—this cigar remains one of the best unofficial Edición Regionals ever released.
