Released as one of three Edición Limitada cigars for 2017, the Series No.1 embodies Habanos S.A.’s rigorous standards for the line—all tobaccos used have been aged a minimum of two years, resulting in greater refinement and complexity.
The cigar opens with medium-full body, offering rich, chewy smoke and gentle spice. Initial notes include toasted dough, earth, and subtle dried fruits, with hints of pepper and sourdough bread peeking through. The middle third introduces heavier earthiness and a pleasing cake-donut chewiness, maintaining a restrained yet satisfying profile.
The final third delivers a vibrant uptick in flavor, introducing bold black and white pepper with a mineral touch, while remaining balanced and never overpowering. A soft evolution is evident throughout, suggesting this cigar is aging gracefully but has yet to reach its full peak.
Construction is generally consistent, with excellent draw and dense smoke production. However, some wrappers may be delicate—especially around the band—requiring care during removal.
