The La Flor de Cano Elegidos is a robusto measuring 127 mm with a 50 ring gauge, featuring a short filler and a finely veined maduro wrapper. Its compact construction offers a firm feel in the hand.
At the cold draw, distant notes of wood dust and pepper whisper softly. The draw is notably airy.
The first third opens simply, with gentle hints of wood and fading flowers. The aromas remain subtle, with a light strength and very ventilated draw.
In the second third, brief notes of dried fruits—hazelnuts—and roasted coffee emerge. The draw becomes very (perhaps too) easy. Recurring hints of bitterness surface.
The final third leans on dry wood, dried flowers, and a background of roasted coffee. The finish is more flavorful and better structured than in past experiences.
This short filler robusto regains some of its charm. The tasting was pleasant and reached a satisfying level.
